A patented design, developed specifically for the Viticulture market, the Vinewrap Peg-thru from Tubex accommodates the use of a 3mm 'tutor rod', allowing easy access to the vine for maintenance and protection from animal browsing.
The Tubex Vinewrap Peg-thru is a twin-walled tube that has been split vertically, creating a natural overlap, enabling it to wrap around a vine and expand as the plant grows.
With an in-built cavity for the inclusion of a ‘tutor’ rod, it can also be easily removed and reinstalled, allowing for bud rubbing and inspection.
Made of recyclable polypropylene (not PVC) the Vinewrap Peg-thru helps protect against small animals, herbicide spray and accidental strimmer damage.
UV stabilised to offer at least 2 years protection, this, along with the mini microclimate created inside the wrap, means better survival rates for your vines in their early years.

Installation
Plant your young vine.
Separate a Vinewrap Peg-thru from the nest of 3, slide the wrap onto a 3mm rod, using the enlarged Peg-thru cavity (Image 2), and push the rod into the ground close to the vine. Attach the top of the rod to your wire trellis.
Slide the Vinewrap Peg-thru down over the vine and gently push into the ground (1-2cm) to protect against herbicides and animals.
Plan for removal and recycling at end of life once the plant is established. More information on recycling is available here.
Use a local Recycling Centre and the bin for 'Plastic' (Code 5 PP). Or contact Tubex for details of their Collection & Recycling scheme. Or use a similar agricultural recycling service.
