Boost growth with Rootgrow

Our woodfuel packs are available on special offer for the 2020-2021 planting season - offering a 10% saving on list price.

With the ever increasing cost of heating oil and solid fuel, the demand from those wishing to plant their own area of woodland to provide an alternative and sustainable fuel source is on the up.

Our woodfuel pack offers an excellent range of tree species, all having recognised qualities as suitable for use as firewood and can generally be harvested from year seven onwards. Young tree species can also be coppiced from the ground to stimulate secondary growth and encourage more timber shoots.

Each pack contains the following:

  • 20% Common Oak (Quercus robur) plants - 30-50cm 1+0
  • 20% Wild Cherry (Prunus avium) plants - 40-60cm 1+0
  • 20% Silver Birch (Betula pendula) plants - 40-60cm 1+0
  • 20% Green Beech (Fagus sylvatica) plants - 40-60cm 1u1
  • 20% Common Alder (Alnus glutinosa) plants - 40-60cm 1+0

Protection options

The woodfuel pack is available with three protection options. The height of protection required depends on what you are protecting against.

  • Option 1 (protection against rabbit & vole): 60cm x 50mm spiral guards with supporting bamboo canes (90cm x 12/14lbs per 100 canes)
  • Option 2 (protection against rabbit & vole): Tubex tree shelters 60cm x 73-105mm diameter with supporting stake 75cm x 25mm x 25mm (+5% stakes to account for potential breakages during installation given they are a natural product)
  • Option 3 (protection against roe deer, muntjac, rabbit & vole): Tubex tree shelters 1.20m x 73-105mm diameter with supporting stake 1.50m x 32mm x 32mm (+5% stakes to account for potential breakages during installation given they are a natural product)
