Getting the nation planting this National Tree Week 28 Nov-6 Dec
National Tree Week 2015 will once again herald the start of winter planting across the UK, running from Saturday 28 November to Sunday 6 December.
First promoted by the Tree Council back in 1975, National Tree Week has become the UK's largest tree celebration. It has become a great opportunity to focus on tree planting and for communities - schools, voluntary bodies and local authorities - to engage with their environment, roll up their sleeves, pull on their wellies and get planting. The UK's 8000-strong Tree Warden fraternity help support this worthy initiative and there's a whole host of events planned around the country to help plant around 1 million trees during the week.
Find out if there's an event near you this year, by checking on the Tree Council website where they have a handy postcode map to show all the planned activities.
