Sales Advisor - Office based

Looking for an exciting sales role with a growing company? If you are a Sales Professional with experience of sourcing new and prospective clients, are hungry for success and love working with a small friendly team, then we offer a great opportunity for genuine career development. We are seeking confident Sales personnel with excellent telephone skills, who are commercially astute, numerically sound and take pride in attention to detail. The company will shortly celebrate 30 years of trading and are geared for further investment. Do you enjoy working in a busy, often hectic, environment but also like working more strategically during quieter times? You will need your own transport to work in this idyllic rural location.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain contact with existing customer base
  • Responding to and following up sales enquiries, whilst following company methods
  • Manage full sales admin process, from order to delivery, for some clients
  • Build relationships with clients/potential clients
  • Identify and develop new and existing business opportunities
  • Set up telephone appointments, pitch to potential clients by cold calling

Personal specification:

  • Excellent PC skills, Microsoft Office
  • Proven telephone sales experience
  • Initiative – ability to drive own workload forward
  • A passion for accuracy and strict attention to detail is essential
  • Professional and friendly communication skills required when conversing either face to face, over the phone or by email with customers, colleagues, hauliers and suppliers
  • Team-work – critical to the success of this business, often multi-tasking to support colleagues within their roles when pressure points arise throughout the busy season

You may currently be working in any of the following positions: Sales Support Administrator, Sales Administrator, Customer Services Administrator, Telesales Executive, Customer Services Specialist. The position does require your own transport but is commutable from Gainsborough, Market Rasen, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Lincoln or Caistor.

Seasonal Warehouse

Please note that this is a physically demanding role and, given the nature of the business, you will be expected to work outside in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the offloading of plant deliveries and storing away accordingly
  • Assisting with the delivery of forestry and landscaping accessories and storing away accordingly
  • Assisting with the collation of plant and accessory orders for customers as per picking lists
  • Packing orders for distribution via carrier/haulier
  • "Heeling in" plants
  • Assisting in the delivering of orders off site direct to customer
  • Keeping sheds and yard tidy always

Working relationships

The individual will be expected to liaise closely and professionally with all other members of staff, both in the office as well as the warehouse, in order to efficiently fulfil the main purpose of this role.

Key tasks (this list is only indicative and not exhaustive):

  • Digging of trenches in order to heel plants into the soil
  • Bending to lift bundles of plants out of the ground
  • Heeling plants in
  • General maintenance and tidying of yards and sheds
  • Being on your feet all day apart from break times
  • Using a manual pallet truck to move laden pallets about on the ground as required
  • Accurate counting, picking, packaging and wrapping of customer orders in time for set daily haulier collection time slots
  • Checking of goods in and bending to lift/move plants and accessories around the warehouses
  • Liaising with the office staff via walkie talkie and in person by going across to the office as required
  • Any other duties consistent with the main purpose of the job as may be defined from time to time

Physical Fitness is an essential criteria for this role. Punctuality, Reliability, Numerical Accuracy, Attention to detail, Communication, Motivation, Teamwork & Customer Care are also very important
