01673 818443Every delegate who attended the prestigious Low Carbon Lincoln conference was given an English Oak Sapling - supplied by British Hardwood Tree Nursery.
We supported this City of Lincoln Council event by providing about 100 young trees for representatives from businesses and organisations, such as Siemens, the Simons Group, Stagecoach East Midlands and NHS Lincolnshire, to take away with them.
This meant that everyone who attended the conference at the University of Lincoln Campus on 14th March 2012 could respond to the call by top-flight speakers for everyone to work together to reduce Lincoln's carbon footprint.
The gathering heard from Robyn Pender from English Heritage about the importance and urgency of reducing greenhouse gases in historic cities and also from Alex Rowell of Cutting the Carbon, which helps businesses and public bodies to understand climate change more clearly.
British Hardwood Tree Nursery is continually advising organisations, including farmers, charities and public sector clients about the impact of tree planting schemes and we recognised that this event contained important messages.
Trees soak-up harmful greenhouse gases. Planting new and replacement trees offers businesses and organisations a sustainable way of reducing their carbon footprint and this action helps to protect historic buildings and the environment for future generations.
