Grants for Hedgerows expected early 2016

Support for Hedgerow and Boundary planting 2016

Important news for farmers and estate owners - early indications are in for the next round of hedgerow grants. For those with planting schemes who seek support from Countryside Stewardship, the NFU have announced details of the options that will be available in early 2016.

With 12 different levels of grant available for boundary restoration, the scheme should be open in February 2016 with applications needed by the end of April.

For those who are eligible, the agreements will be for 18-24 months, allowing two opportunities to go forward with hedgerow planting plans. Grants range from £1K to £5K.

The NFU had lobbied to try to ensure that all eligible applicants may receive a grant but unfortunately, the options appear to still be very limited.
