We provide a range of Alnus bare root plants, including Alnus cordata, Alnus glutinosa & Alnus incana.
A handsome, fast-growing large tree, sometimes seen in parks and gardens, the Italian Alder (Alnus cordata) is often regarded as the finest of the species.
A fast-growing, medium-sized native tree found all over Britain, especially in wet places. Very hardy and coping with a wide range of soil types, Common Alder (Alnus glutinosa) is particularly useful for preventing soil erosion, and for establishing plantings in waterlogged areas.
Grey Alder (Alnus incana) was introduced to Britain around 200 years ago. A fast growing deciduous tree, it does well even on very dry soils, and is often used to reclaim derelict land and spoil heaps.
