Grant Application Service

The English Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS)

The EWGS has been formulated to encourage the creation of new woodlands. Capital Grants are available together with annual Farm Woodland Payments (FWP) to compensate for agricultural forgone.

IN MANY CASES THE GRANTS RECEIVED COVER THE COST OF WOODLAND ESTABLISHMENT

The EWGS is discretionary and based upon a points scoring system.

Bht specialise in the preparation and submission of English Woodland Grant Scheme applications in relation to Woodland Creation. Our service includes:

  • Free on-site visit to discuss your proposed scheme and assess probability of success 
  • Advice on the grants receivable and future cash flow implications
  • Scheme design and species recommendations considering soil type and final objectives
  • Preparation and submission of the EWGS application to the Forestry Commission
  • Liaison with the Forestry Commission following submission of your application
  • Tracking to ensure grant funding is paid direct to you when due following completion of planting

Fee Structure
IF THE APPLICATION IS SUCCESSFUL AND BHT ARE RETAINED TO CARRY OUT THE FULL WOODLAND PLANTING SERVICE ON YOUR BEHALF THEN THE FEE FOR GRANT APPLICATION SERVICES WILL BE WAIVED.
